Part-time Code Enforcement (2016)
The Village of Westmont (population 24,974) is seeking a Seasonal Code Enforcement Officer in our Community Development Department during the approximately spring to fall season.  This temporary position will be responsible for conducting daily tours of the Village to report on weed, watering, and other code violations; issuing warnings and violations notices; and assisting the Code Enforcement team. 
 
The officer will perform on-site residential and commercial inspections and issue notices.  The successful candidate will have the ability to read a map, walk for long periods of time, be tactful and diplomatic, possess the ability to express themselves effectively verbally and in writing, with excellent customer service and computer skills.  High school diploma (or equivalent) required; 1-3 years of related experience preferred; and a valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required. ICC Certifications in Property Maintenance highly desirable.
 
Working hours will be approximately 36 hours per week, primarily during the day from approximately May until August.  Majority of work hours will be scheduled weekdays, and weekend hours will be required. Some evening hours will also be required. The rate of pay will be $14-$17 per hour DOQ.
