Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement

The mission of the Code Enforcement Division is to ensure that property and structures are maintained in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition in accordance with the Westmont Municipal Code and currently adopted International Property Maintenance Code.

Code Enforcement FAQ's

The Code Enforcement Division will investigate possible code violations, concerns, or complaints reported by the public or discovered by staff during routine patrol of the Village.

If a citizen feels there is a code violation that needs investigation, please use the Report a Concern on the Village Website home page and fill out a service request. This form will be automatically forwarded to the Code Enforcement Division for follow-up. The person filling out the request may then check back to monitor the progress until the case is closed out.

NOTE: While anonymous complaints are accepted, staff is not able to follow up with anonymous complainants or provide status updates. Additionally, if a complainant gives his or her name, it is subject to FOIA disclosure.

Adjudication Hearings

Since the Spring of 2018, the Village of Westmont has been conducting adjudication hearings for municipal code violations. Hearings are held at the Westmont Village Hall Board Room, 31 W. Quincy Street, 2nd floor, in Westmont. All adjudication hearings are for respondents only and not open to the general public.

Upon arrival for hearings, respondents must sign in at the business office on the first floor before proceeding to the hearing on the second floor. After disposition of case, respondents must sign out at the business office and pay all related fines, if applicable, at that time.
