A Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by state government to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents. A Notary’s duty is to screen the signers of important documents - such as property deeds, wills, and powers of attorney - for their true identity.
Citizens who wish to have an item notarized must have a valid government-issued picture ID with your signature. Any document to be notarized must be signed in the presence of the Notary.
The Village of Westmont offers the Notary Public service of witnessing signatures free of charge. Appointments can be made by contacting the Business Office 630-981-6220. Notary services end one hour before close of business each day.
