Hotel/Motel Grant Request - Lions Club - Spring Fling BBQ

Board to consider a motion awarding a Hotel/Motel Grant request in the amount of $2,500.00 to the Westmont Lions Foundation for the 2023 Westmont Lions Foundation Spring Fling Festival.

Background of Subject Matter
The Westmont Lions Club is requesting Hotel/Motel Grants to assist in the annual festival and BBQ event, which they have received in the past. This event attracts teams and attendees from many other locations.
Additional Background
The Admin/Finance Committee has historically approved this. Due to this history, this is presented directly to the Village Board.

B-1 Permit - Feydom Furniture Showroom at 36 South Cass Avenue, Unit 28

Board to consider an ordinance approving a B-1 Development Permit for Totem Premium, LLC (d/b/a Feydom), to operate a furniture showroom at 36 S. Cass Avenue Unit 28.

Background of Subject Matter
Mr. Viktor Koshevaliski requests approval to operate a furniture showroom in Unit 28 of Richmond Station. Feydom is a furniture retailer based in Europe, recently expanding sales to Canada and now the US market.
Additional Background
The business would have sales both on-site and through feydom.com, employing 2-4 employees. The showroom would be open 5 days a week, typically from 11am to 6pm or 7pm.

B-1 Permit - Secured Kicks at 21 West Quincy Street

Board to consider an ordinance approving a B-1 Development Permit for Secured Chicago, LTD (d/b/a Secured Kicks) to operate a shoe and clothing retail store at 21 W. Quincy Street.

Background of Subject Matter
Mr. George Anderson requests to establish a retail store selling shoes and apparel from both popular and local self-made brands. Secured Kicks will operate as a buy-sell-trade store in addition to new item sales.
Additional Background
The business will operate 7 days a week, typically 11am to 7pm M-Th, until 8pm on F-Sa, and 12pm to 6pm on Sunday. It is anticipated to employ 6-8 employees for either full or part-time positions.

Award of Bid Proposal - Cyclic Parkway Tree Pruning 2023

Board to consider an ordinance awarding the bid proposal from Yellowstone Landscape for the Cyclic Parkway Tree Pruning 2023 project for the southeastern portion of town, and Farmingdale Subdivision, and authorizing a contract consistent with the bid documents.

Background of Subject Matter
The Village has accepted the bid proposal from one contractor for the Cyclic Parkway Tree Pruning 2023 project. The bidder is Yellowstone Landscape with a low bid of $85,638.86. 1523 trees to be pruned. All references recommend Yellowstone Landscape.
Additional Background
The area scheduled for pruning is the Southeast section of town, and is bounded by Quincy Street, 67th Street, Cass Avenue and an eastern boundary of the limits of the village. This area also includes Farmingdale subdivision.
Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the bid of $85,638.86 to Yellowstone Landscape.

ComEd Settlement Agreement

Board to consider an ordinance accepting a settlement agreement with ComEd regarding a notice of tax liability.

Background of Subject Matter
The Village hired Azavar to audit ComEd's collection of Municipal Utility Tax. In 2011 and 2013 the Village issued notices of tax liability.

IGA for Police and Fire Dispatch Services

Board to consider an ordinance approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Addison for police and fire dispatch services through the Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center.

Background of Subject Matter
This IGA mirrors previous IGA's between the parties & provides that Addison will provide dispatch services for the Village's Police & Fire Depts., & other member municipalities.
Additional Background
The term of this new IGA is from 5/1/2023 - 4/30/2025. Pricing for Year 1 is $731,002.00, with a slight increase for Year 2.
