The impact of the recent severe weather incident resulting in numerous flooding issues throughout the area reminds everyone the importance of communication. Good communication requires both the sender and receiver of the message to play a role. This incident provides an opportunity to promote the NOTIFY ME community alerts link on the Village Website.
By clicking on the NOTIFY ME button on the homepage, viewers will have the opportunity to sign up for various types of community alerts. Residents can choose what types of notifications they receive including meeting agendas, information from the events calendar, news flash and press release information, and most importantly, emergency alerts.
“While we understand that not everyone has internet access, for those who do, this is a very important way to stay connected with the Village,” say Mayor Pro Tem Sue Senicka. “We also encourage residents and businesses to sign up for our various social media pages.”
The NOTIFY ME link also allows the subscriber to decide how they receive messages from the Village including text message, email, or both.
