Per the Village contract with Waste Management, Christmas trees will be picked up in Westmont during the first two full weeks of the new year, January 6 through 17. All trees picked up during this timeframe will be composted.
Trees should be put out with your other recycling and waste on your typical pickup day. Trees MUST be free of decorations, tinsel, and lights to be picked up and composted. Also, trees should NOT be placed in garbage bags or liners of any sort. Trees taller than 6' should be cut in half for easier disposal.
Trees put out after the first two full weeks of the year will be considered garbage and may be subject to a fine. For more information, please contact Waste Management at www.wm.com or 800-964-8988.
