[ARCHIVED] Make it Your New Year’s Resolution to Volunteer

Westmont, Illinois

Date Issued: December 12, 2019

Are you considering any New Year’s Resolutions for 2020?  If yes, consider being a volunteer in your community!

“Volunteers enable organizations to provide bigger and better events for the community,” said Dustin Kleefisch, Superintendent of Recreation for the Westmont Park District.  “Our volunteers are extremely important to the events and programs that we host each year.”

At the Westmont Park District, volunteers are needed for a variety of events and programs such as coaching for basketball and soccer, assisting with events such as Holly Days and 4th of July, helping with the Westmont Historical Society, and more.  The Park District assists with the coordination of thirty-seven different special events each year.

The Westmont Park District is also the location for Westmont’s Meals on Wheels Program, in which volunteers assist with preparing and delivering food to area seniors.  Meals on Wheels has over one hundred volunteers and distributes over 46,000 meals to residents of DuPage County each year. If you are interested in volunteering for the Meals on Wheels Program, please call 630-620-0804 x113.

The Village of Westmont encourages everyone to be active in your community.  There are many opportunities to get involved and influence positive change through volunteerism.  Whatever your interests, we can help find an activity, program, or event for you. Here is a list of just some of Westmont’s local organizations and their volunteer opportunities:
