COVID-19 INFORMATION RESOURCES
Following is information from DuPage County regarding how to protect yourself from contracting and/or spreading COVID-19.

Here is what you can do to prepare your family as we see additional cases of COVID-19 in our community.
  • Know where to find local information on COVID-19 and local trends of COVID-19 cases. Visit www.dupagehealth.org/covid19.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and what to do if symptomatic:
*Stay home when you are sick
*Call your health care provider’s office in advance of a visit
*Limit movement in the community
*Limit visitors
  • Know what additional measures those at higher risk and who are vulnerable should take.
  • Implement steps to prevent illness (e.g., stay home when sick, handwashing, respiratory etiquette, clean frequently touched surfaces daily, social distancing).
  • Create a household plan of action in case of illness in the household or disruption of daily activities due to COVID-19 in the community:
*Consider 2-week supply of prescription and over the counter medications, food and other essentials. Know how to get food delivered if possible.
*Establish ways to communicate with others (e.g., family, friends, co-workers).
*Establish plans to telework, what to do about childcare needs, how to adapt to cancellation of events.
  • Know about emergency operations plans for schools/workplaces of household members.

For updates on coronavirus response in DuPage County, please visit the DCHD website at www.dupagehealth.org/covid19.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin issued a disaster proclamation for DuPage County in response to the County’s first confirmed case of COVID-19.  By issuing a disaster proclamation, the County officially activated its Emergency Operations Plan and will continue to work with local, state, and federal partners to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Governor J.B. Pritzker issued a disaster proclamation on March 9 that would allow Illinois to receive federal funds to assist with the statewide response to coronavirus. Chairman Cronin made the proclamation after consultation from the DuPage County Health Department and the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

To learn more about coronavirus visit the DuPage County Health Department’s coronavirus page at www.dupagehealth.org/590/Coronavirus-Information or call the Illinois Department of Public Health’s coronavirus hotline at (800) 889-3931.
