In February and March, the Downers Grove Sanitary District temporarily stopped work on alley projects due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tentatively, they are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, April 22 and continue work until completion later this Spring. The project will replace the sewer main in the alley along West Burlington between Washington Street and Lincoln Street.
Similar to past projects, the alley will be closed during construction. The DG Sanitary District will strive to re-open the alley for nights and weekends. Addresses adjacent to the work will not have alley access during the day. Waste Management will be notified by the District when pickup will occur from the street. Temporary overnight parking will be allowed on the street.
