During the week of May 11, flower baskets will be hung in downtown Westmont, which has been a community tradition for many years. “We always receive numerous compliments on how well our staff takes care of our community and the downtown,” said Mayor Ron Gunter. “Our Village is being very cautious with our municipal budget during this time of economic uncertainty, however, our downtown flower baskets were ordered and purchased prior to COVID-19. The flowers might bring some positive energy to our citizens while we endure this challenging time.”
All other community enhancement expenditures and capital development projects that were not previously contracted have been put on hold and will need to go before the Village Board for consideration and approval before moving forward.
