In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders, garage sales may be allowed providing they follow the Restore Illinois Guidelines.
Currently, Illinois is in Phase III of the Restore Illinois plan, which mandates the following guidelines:
- No more than 10 people are allowed in a gathering at one time
- Six feet social distancing should be maintained
- If social distancing cannot be maintained, then face coverings should be worn
The topic of garage sales was discussed at the Village of Westmont Administration-Finance Committee meeting on June 4, 2020 and it was decided that garage sale permits would not be required in Westmont for the remainder of 2020.
As with so many things during COVID-19, this plan may be updated and the most current published guidelines by the Village of Westmont must be followed.
WESTMONT COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE - AUGUST 7, 8 & 9
The annual Westmont Community Garage Sale is scheduled for August 7, 8 & 9. This is an event that encourages the entire community to host their garage sales on the same weekend so residents have many bargain-buying opportunities and options. Sales will be held from 8am to 5pm on these dates. There will be no rain dates scheduled. No permit is necessary. Following is the Community Garage Sale sign-up link
