Village of Westmont
Date Issued: May 30, 2013
Westmont Chief of Police Tom Mulhearn and other officers will be sitting on the roof of the Dunkin’ Donuts on 63rd Street just west of Cass Avenue on Friday, May 31 from 6 a.m. to Noon as part of the Cop On Top Special Olympics fundraiser. There will be a total of 151 locations throughout the State of Illinois participating in this event.
“If there is lightning or heavy rain, then we’ll be inside,” says Chief Mulhearn who has participated in the event for the last several years. “Otherwise, we’ll be out there on top of Dunkin’ Donuts all morning. This is for a great cause and I’m proud to be associated with such a worthwhile effort.” This event is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. All proceeds go directly to Special Olympics Illinois.
Persons making a $10.00 donation will receive a coffee mug and coffee. A free donut will be given to all persons making a donation. The Village encourages everyone to show their support and stop by.
