Every year, the Westmont Fire Department coordinates an Open House and invites the public to visit their headquarters and learn about fire prevention programs and services. Due to COVID-19, the Fire Department will not be able to host their public event, but will be creating several video presentations for the public to view from home.
“Unfortunately, we cannot open our doors to the public this year,” said Westmont Fire Chief Steve Riley. “We will miss seeing everyone in person, but hope that the video presentations we’re creating for the event will be educational and entertaining.”
Fire Inspectors Neil Berkowitz and Dave Zalesiak will be producing the videos which will include a kitchen safety presentation and tours of various fire department vehicles and apparatus. These videos will be posted on the Westmont Fire Department’s Facebook page during fire prevention week, which is October 4-10.
