As always, the Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For 2020, the American Legion has confirmed that they will host their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Westmont Park District Community Center, 75 E. Richmond, in the gymnasium. Doors will open to the public at 10:45 a.m. and the ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m.
“The Park District is happy to assist our veterans with this important annual event,” said Park District Executive Director Bob Fleck. “To make sure everyone is safe, we will follow current safety guidelines for community gatherings.” Everyone attending must wear a mask when entering and exiting the building. Seating will be properly spaced at the event so that everyone attending is safe. The ceremony is open to the public, however, the number attendees is limited.
VILLAGE OFFICES CLOSED
The Westmont Village Hall and Village Department offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in observance of Veterans Day. Normal business hours for the Village Hall and Village Departments will resume on Thursday, November 12.
After-hour bill payments can be made via the Village of Westmont after-hours drop boxes located near the entrance of the Westmont Commuter Train Station on W. Quincy St. and at the Westmont Police Department located at 500 N. Cass Ave.
Recycling and garbage collection will not be disrupted.
