Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: November 9, 2020

“With the success of our recent virtual Halloween events, Westmont Special Events is announcing several Thanksgiving-themed activities,” said WSEC President Dave Gullotto.  “We are having a recipe exchange, crafts & coloring contest, and a selfie scavenger hunt.  We’re trying to create programs and events that appeal to all ages and we invite everyone to take part in the fun.”

Following are this year’s WSEC virtual Thanksgiving events and activities.  Please sign up online to participate.

WSEC Thanksgiving Contests & Activities SIGN-UP FORM

THANKSGIVING RECIPE EXCHANGE

Share and post your favorite recipes on our Westmont Special Events - Stanley Jamburger Facebook page.  If you can, post a picture of your food dish along with the complete recipe.  The public is encouraged to try these recipes as well as LIKE their favorites.  There will be four categories:

  • Appetizer
  • Non-Traditional Entree
  • Dessert
  • Something with Cranberries

THANKSGIVING CRAFTS & COLORING CONTEST

Everyone is invited to take part in the Thanksgiving Crafts and Turkey Coloring Contest.  People can participate in several ways:

  • Make Your Own Thanksgiving Craft
  • Draw Your Own Thanksgiving Turkey
  • Color Our Turkey Picture

Sign up online, send us a picture of your craft or coloring contest entry, and we will post your photo online for people to see and vote.  There will be several age categories.

TAKE A SELFIE WITH THE TURKEY CONTEST

Starting Friday, November 13, we will place our WSEC Turkey at a different location every day through Sunday, November 22.  At the beginning of each day, we will provide clues regarding where the turkey is at.  When you find it, take a selfie with the turkey and post it on our Westmont Special Events / Stanley Jamburger Facebook page.  The contest will last for 10 days, so a perfect score will consist of 10 selfies with our turkey at 10 different locations.  The team/person with the best score will win.  If there is a tie, we will have a drawing from the groups with the best scores.
