[ARCHIVED] DuPage Begins Tier 2 COVID-19 Mitigation on Nov. 11

Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: November 11, 2020

On Monday, November 9, Governor J.B. Pritzger announced that several regions in the State of Illinois would begin Tier 2 Mitigation guidelines starting Wednesday, November 11.  The Village of Westmont is located in Region 8, which will be one of the regions affected by the Tier 2 Resurgence Mitigation.

As detailed in the July 15 Restore Illinois Resurgence Plan, Tier 2 mitigations may be applied if a region’s positivity rate remains above the 8 percent positivity threshold after 14 days under Tier 1 mitigations. If a region continues to experience a sustained resurgence of COVID-19 after 14 days with Tier 2 mitigations in place, stricter measures may be necessary to curtail further spread.  Following are some of the Tier 2 mitigation guidelines.  Please note that an asterisk denotes new mitigation to Tier 2.
