In response to the ongoing cleanup efforts pertaining to the April flood event, the Village of Westmont is granting amnesty for building permit and inspection fees for permit requests related to flood repairs. This assistance is being offered in addition to the amnesty granted allowing POD storage in excess of 10 days.
Please note that permits are still required for flood repair, rebuilding, or POD storage, but no fees will be assessed for permit requests due to storm damage through September 7, 2013.
“The initial amnesty for PODS was expanded to include building permits in order to assist property owners facing the unexpected financial stress of responding to the recent flooding incident,” says Community Development Director Shannon Malik.
