The Village of Westmont is a dementia friendly community. In 2020 the village made the commitment to raise awareness, reduce stigma, provide resources, and increase support for those living with dementia through education and coordination of resources.
AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois is offering financial assistance to people who have dementia and their caregivers. AgeGuide is one of 622 Area Agencies on Aging throughout the United States and one of 13 in Illinois.
AgeGuide offers several resources and assistance with:
- Home delivered meals
- Chores, household and grocery services
- Assistance with rent, mortgage and/or utility bills
- Dentures, prescription drugs, hearing aids, and glasses
- Home improvements for accessibility
- Technology such as smart or GPS devices
- And more
