Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: March 5, 2021
The DuPage County Stormwater Management Planning Committee recently approved the 2021 recipients of the County’s Water Quality Improvement Program grant. In total, the Committee selected six projects countywide, all of which aim to improve the quality of DuPage’s streams and rivers. Westmont is to receive grant monies for the following two projects: the Oakwood Homeowners Association Lake Charles Shoreline Stabilization Project and the Village of Westmont’s Detention Basin Retrofit at 61st Street and Cumnor Road.
“We are very appreciative of these grants from the DuPage County Stormwater Management Committee,” said Public Works Director Mike Ramsey. “This money will help us move forward on these important stormwater management infrastructure projects.”
Westmont will receive more than $130K for the 61st and Cumnor project, which is about 25% of the project’s total cost. The Detention Basin Retrofit is expected to begin later this year.
