On Thursday, August 5, Westmont Special Events and the Westmont Fire Department will co-host the Westmont Cruisin’ Nights Fire Truck Night. The event will be held on Cass Avenue in downtown Westmont from 5 to 9 p.m. and will include many activities for families including a dunk tank, fire slide pole, obstacle course, various kids games with prize giveaways, tours of the various fire department vehicles, visits with Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddy the Fire Truck, as well as for kids to dress up in fire fighting gear. The event will conclude with the annual Fire Truck Parade on Cass Avenue around 9 p.m.
“The entire Fire Department is always so happy to come out each year and be part of Westmont Cruisin’ Nights,” said Fire Chief Steve Riley, “We love seeing all of the people who stop by to visit with our crews and check out our fire trucks and other vehicles.”
As always, classic cars of all makes and models are invited each week to participate and park along Cass Avenue. “Our goal is to bring families and visitors to downtown Westmont to enjoy all it has to offer,” said Westmont Special Events President Dave Gullatto. “We hope that when people come to the event, they take time to shop at our downtown businesses.”
