The Village of Westmont contracts with Clarke Mosquito Management to help control mosquito populations. There is a current uptick in mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus in DuPage County. Additionally, a positive collection was made in a Westmont trap on August 12. For these reasons, a community-wide mosquito spraying treatment has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 18, 2021. The product used for this application is OMRI-listed and approved for use in residential areas. The treatment is applied by a truck and is performed between dusk and dawn when adult mosquitoes are most active. At various times throughout the year, there will be additional treatments applied throughout our community.
