The Westmont Historical Society will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the opening of the Gregg House to the public as a museum on Sunday, September 19, 1-4 p.m. at the Gregg House Museum, 115 S. Linden Street.
“Historically, the Gregg House Museum opened in September of 1981 as part of the Pow Wow Days festival that year,” said Gregg House Museum Curator Alice Krampits. We’re excited to celebrate this event during the Village’s 100th anniversary and we hope everyone will take time to stop by and visit the museum.”
The celebration will feature two very special guests: Gregg Blanchard, a descendent of William L. Gregg, and John Dennison, the first curator of the museum. In addition, there will be a photo exhibit and a storyboard display commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Westmont. Also, the Westmont historical book Images of America: Westmont will be available for purchase and author Maggie South will be on hand to answer questions and sign books. The event will include refreshments, music, Model T rides, and contests.
