“This is very exciting for us and the entire Village,” says Westmont Lions Club President Chris Svitak. “Having the BBQ Pitmasters TV production at our event was a big draw this year and we can’t wait to see the show.”
At the 2013 Red, White & BBQ Festival this past Memorial Day Weekend, the cable TV show BBQ Pitmasters came to Westmont and shot footage of the event. The episode that will feature the Red, White & BBQ as the backdrop to their show will be aired on August 11, 8 p.m. central standard time on the Destination America Cable Channel.
BBQ Pitmasters is a reality TV show in which BBQ chefs compete against each other for cash and prizes. The Red, White & BBQ festival served as a perfect background for such a competition.
“We would like to thank Walsh’s Bar & Grill on Naperville Road for agreeing to have a public viewing party of this episode,” says Svitak. “And of course, we’d like to thank Destination America and BBQ Pitmasters for coming out to the event - we hope they make Westmont an annual trip for years to come.” The viewing party at Walsh’s will begin at 7 p.m.
