A new effort to partner local artists with downtown businesses to paint Fall and Halloween themes on participating windows throughout the central business district has been launched by the Westmont Special Events Corporation and the Creative Arts Network. Businesses that sign up and participate will be paired with a local artist to have their storefront window painted with Fall flair or Halloween scenes. The paintings will be on display from Sunday, October 17 through early November.
Westmont Special Events has been partnering with the Creative Arts Network this past year to offer opportunities for artists to gather, display and sell their art at events such as Cruisin’ Night and the Taste of Westmont. “I think this will be a great opportunity for both artists and businesses to bring some excitement and visual energy to the downtown,” said Creative Arts Network coordinator Jenny Babyar. “If this proves to be successful, then we will want to continue this project for other holidays and events.”
