On Saturday, October 23, the Westmont Police Department hosted drug take-back events as part of the National DEA-sponsored Drug Take-Back Day. The program took in a total of 257 pounds of unwanted medication from three locations throughout Westmont including Westmont Mariano’s, Johanik Fire Station Headquarters, and the Police-Fire Facility at 500 N. Cass Avenue. Drug take-back programs focus on collecting unwanted, unused, and expired prescription drugs, pills, powders, and patches. The Westmont Police Department thanks everyone who participated.
