Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: November 14, 2021
On Sunday morning, November 14, 2021, at 10:37am, the Westmont Fire Department and Police Department responded to 999 Oakmont Lane for a reported car in a pond near Route 83 in Westmont. Upon Fire Department arrival, water rescue members went into the water and found an unresponsive person still in the car. Fire Department personnel moved the individual from the water to an ambulance where the victim was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Divers are still actively working to confirm that there are no other victims. The Westmont Fire and Police Departments were assisted by Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Tri-State, Downers Grove, Lisle-Woodridge, Naperville and Warrenville Fire Departments along with MERIT accident Reconstruction.
