Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: November 15, 2021
The Westmont High School Band and their boosters will be busy on Saturday, December 4 with their 31st Annual Craft Show from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Westmont High School, 909 N. Oakwood Drive, Westmont, and later in the day they will be performing in the Holly Days Parade at 5 p.m. in Downtown Westmont on Cass Avenue.
“We’re looking forward to having our annual craft show fundraiser being part of the annual Holly Days Festival and Parade,” said Larisa Fetterly, one of the volunteer coordinators for the event. “This will be a great day for the community to support our band students by coming to the craft show during the day and then attending their performance in the parade that evening. Our band program is in need of resources, so we appreciate everyone’s support.”
Proceeds from the Craft Show support instrument and uniform maintenance and replacement, student scholarships and educational music clinics. Students in the band program participate in the Sentinel Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Spring Musical Pit Band and Jazz Ensembles.
Over one hundred artisans will showcase their handmade items for sale, including woodworking, pottery, jewelry, and crocheted, knitted & sewn items. Live music performances by the Westmont High School Band students add to the festive atmosphere. The six-hour event historically welcomes over 1200 attendees. Event admission is free. More information is available on the event website.
At 5:00 p.m., the Sentinel Marching Band will participate in the annual Frosty and Friends Parade in downtown Westmont, the official kick off to the Village's month-long Holly Days Winter Festival. Parade viewing will be along Cass Avenue between Chicago Avenue and Richmond Street.
