Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: January 5, 2022
The Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar in which the months are based on moon cycles, also known as the lunar calendar. Lunar New Year is particularly celebrated in East Asia, influenced by the Chinese New Year and the Chinese Calendar. In 2022, the Lunar New Year celebration season will be from January 31 through February 15.
On Wednesday, January 26, at 7 p.m., Educator Yvonne Wolf will share information about the upcoming Year of the Tiger and the Chinese New Year Celebration including the cultural rites, activities, symbols, and foods associated with it. Visit the Westmont Public Library website for more information and to sign up for this fun and information program. A recording of this presentation will be posted on the Westmont Public Library’s YouTube channel for two weeks following the event date.
