Compost Bin Sale
You can make rich, nutrient soil for your lawn and garden using your coffee grounds, eggshells, vegetable scraps, yard clippings, and more. It’s also one of the easiest steps you can take to lower your carbon footprint. All it takes is a backyard composter, some food scraps and carbon-rich source like dried leaves, branches or wood chips. You will have high quality soil straight from your home. Add a rain barrel to provide water for your garden and you’ll be your own tiny ecosystem! Learn more about composting here.
To help you get started, the County has partnered with The Conservation Foundation and DuPage Forest Preserve District on a compost bin sale. Bins can be ordered on the Conservation Foundation website through May 8 and picked up on May 13, 3 to 6:00 p.m.; and May 14, 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 31st., Oak Brook, Illinois.
