The Village of Westmont has scheduled a special board meeting for Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m. at the Village Hall, 31 W. Quincy. The focus of the meeting will be a presentation by the Community Stormwater Management Committee. The committee will offer recommendations regarding steps to address community flooding concerns.
“Since the committee started in June, we’ve had several meetings and we’re moving quickly,” says Committee Chair Steve Nero. “We’re being comprehensive in our approach so that we can do our best to address a wide range of stormwater concerns throughout the community.” The Oct. 24 presentation will include a review of areas of concern, "green" stormwater management concepts, and identifying revenue streams to fund stormwater projects.
The Stormwater Committee is made up of community volunteers who have a strong interest in this topic and have stepped forward to assist the Village with addressing this difficult issue. The committee strongly encourages the community to attend the meeting to offer their feedback to the update and recommendations that will be presented on Oct. 24.
