The Westmont Police Department and Dunkin’ will once again participate in the annual Cop on a Rooftop program. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 5 a.m. to Noon at participating Dunkin’ locations. The community is invited to come out and support this program that serves as a fundraiser for Special Olympic Illinois.
In the past, both Dunkin’ locations in Westmont have participated. Locations are still being confirmed. During the event, Westmont Police officers will be on the rooftop of Dunkin’ waving to the public and encouraging the community to stop by and participate. Additional police personnel, community volunteers, and area Special Olympics athletes will be collecting donations and selling the 2022 Special Olympics Torch Run T-shirts at the event.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop event with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. This event has been a huge success over the years with more than $6.7 million being raised in Illinois through this partnership.
