Westmont, Illinois - UPDATED - August 10, 2022
The Village of Westmont contracts with Clarke Mosquito Management to help control adult mosquito populations. As part of Clarke’s comprehensive mosquito management program, community-wide mosquito spraying occurs at various times throughout the year. Weather permitting, the next community-wide mosquito spraying treatment is scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Additionally, there will be a mosquito larval control application, which will be distributed via helicopter, scheduled for Thursday, August 11. These applications are being performed in response to the uptick in West Nile Virus positive collections made in DuPage County and two positive WNV mosquito samples collected in Westmont.
The product used for this application is OMRI-listed and approved for use in residential areas. The treatment is applied by a truck and is performed between dusk and dawn when adult mosquitoes are most active. At various times throughout the year, there will be additional treatments applied throughout our community.
