Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: October 5, 2022

As Wicked West Fest continues throughout the month of October, be sure to visit downtown Westmont on Saturday, October 22 for several fun and exciting events including the Trick or Treat Trail, Wicked West Fest Costume Contest & Photo Booth, the Pumpkin Smashing Extravaganza, Casket Races, and more.  Be sure to check the start times for each event.

10:15AM - WICKED WEST FEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
Downtown Westmont - Cass & East Irving
Westmont Special Events invites everyone to dress up for Halloween and come to downtown Westmont to be part of the Wicked West Fest Costume Contest.  There will be six age groups. Participants must arrive by 10:15 a.m. for sign-up.  Judging will take place following sign-up and the contest is expected to be over by 11 a.m. before the start of the Trick or Treat Trail.

11:00AM-1:00PM - TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL
Downtown Westmont at participating businesses
Come to downtown Westmont in your Halloween Costume and go trick or treating at participating businesses throughout the downtown business district.  For more information, visit the Westmont Chamber website at westmontchamber.com.

11:00AM-1:00PM - WICKED WEST FEST PHOTO BOOTH
Downtown Westmont at Cass & East Irving
After the Costume Contest is over, stop by the Wicked West Fest Photo Booth on East Irving Street for free photos in front of our Halloween backdrop.  Hosted by Westmont Special Events.

11:00AM-NOON - PUMPKIN SMASHING EXTRAVAGANZA
Downtown Westmont - Cass & West Irving
Westmont community groups and public agencies will compete in our annual pumpkin smashing extravaganza. Competitors will go 20 feet up in the air in a bucket truck and then throw their pumpkin at a target below in an attempt to earn the titles of Pumpkin King and Queen.  All of the fun is an effort to promote pumpkin recycling/composting.

12:30PM - CASKETS ON CASS RACE
Downtown Westmont on Cass
Caskets on Cass is a foot race of homemade caskets sponsored by community organizations, businesses, and area residents.  For more information and to sign up, visit the Westmont Chamber website at westmontchamber.com.

3:00-9:30PM - HAUNTED FOREST TOUR
Diane Main Park - 300 W. 59th Street
Follow the trail and take a haunted hayrack ride through Smith Woods as ghosts, ghouls and monsters come alive before your very eyes! Little Monsters Showing for younger viewers 3 to 6:30pm. Sheer Terror Tours from 7 to 9:30pm. $6 per person. For more information, visit the Westmont Park District website at westmontparks.org.
