The Westmont Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the annual State of the Village presentation at Neat Kitchen + Bar. Mayor Gunter began the presentation and then introduced various Village staff members to present on specific subjects.
Finance Director Spencer Parker discussed our current budget status as well as preparation for the 2014 budget. Community Development Director Shannon Malik presented information regarding various economic development achievements from the past year including the adoption of the Village Master Plan as well as the final approval of two TIF districts. And Village Manager Ron Searl provided closing comments in regard to the many new initiatives launched in the past year.
“A lot has happened in a short time,” says Mayor Ron Gunter. “We’re striving to improve communication in the village, which is reflected in some of our new events and committees such as the Coffee with the Mayor, the Community Stormwater Committee, and Westmont First. We have a lot of exciting things happening in Westmont, and as Village Manager Searl stated, ‘Westmont is positioned for success’.”
