As an official Dementia-Friendly community, the Westmont Public Library continues to host monthly dementia-friendly presentations. These in-person programs are designed for persons with dementia, their caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about this topic. Following is a list of upcoming presentations:
HANDLING THE HOLIDAYS: TIPS TO ENJOY THE SEASON

Caring for a person with memory loss can present unique challenges during the holiday season. This presentation shares ideas to help ensure you and your loved ones can safely enjoy this special time of the year when friends and family come together.
DOCUMENTARY: COMPLAINTS OF A DUTIFUL DAUGHTER
Westmont Public Library - Wednesday, January 18, 1:00pm
This Academy Award Feature Documentary Nominee chronicles the various stages of a mother’s Alzheimer’s disease and the evolution of a daughter’s response to the illness. There will be a short discussion after the movie.

Join the WPL for this open forum to ask questions and discuss concerns you have about memory loss disease and how to handle the journey.
These Dementia Friendly Westmont programs are presented by Patti Terkovich from Aspired Living of Westmont and Mary Ferguson from Birches Assisted Living and Memory Care. Each of these presentations require advance registration. Registration for these programs opens on November 15.
