Each year, the Village of Westmont and the Westmont Special Events Corporation organizes a Community-Wide Garage Sale, which encourages residents to hold their garage sales during the same weekend to bring out the bargain hunters en masse.
In 2012, the Westmont Community Garage Sale event will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 17 & 18. All participants throughout the Village will hold their garage sales on the same weekend.
Participants should sign up by calling Westmont Special Events at 630-829-WEST by Friday, Aug. 10. People can continue to sign up through the event, but their addresses might not be included on local publicity. Residents do not need to purchase a garage sale permit to participate in this event. Participants are encouraged to promote their sales and take out their own advertisements.
Westmont Special Events will create a master list of garage sales and promote the list on the WSEC Website (www.WestmontEvents.com), Comcast ch. 16 and AT&T ch. 99, as well as make fliers which will be distributed in local public agency facilities.
