“The Westmont Chamber of Commerce provides businesses with an excellent opportunity to promote themselves to the general public as well as network within the business community,” says Chamber President Gregg Pill. “We have a growing number of home-based businesses that are Chamber members, which is excellent for both the Chamber and these businesses.”
The Westmont Chamber currently has more than 40 home-based business members, which includes both part-time and full-time businesses. Home-based businesses find value in the Chamber through integrating themselves into the business community, developing and maintaining business networks, and building awareness for their business. Following is a list of categories of several home-based businesses:
* Accounting
* Insurance
* Personal care services & products (Avon, Mary Kay, etc.)
* Pet grooming
* Consultants
* Marketing
* Media services
“Home-based businesses might join the Chamber for a variety of reasons,” says Pam Wagner, who is a Chamber member and is an Avon independent representative. “We think the Chamber provides us with a lot of opportunities to promote ourselves at various Chamber outings and community events.” Wagner is very active in the community and regularly participates in the Red, White & BBQ as well as the Taste of Westmont.
