Village of Westmont
Date Issued: Feb. 5, 2014
With the continuing bad weather and record-breaking snowfalls, the Westmont Fire Department is asking residents to help with a very specific task. “Our crews have been inundated with special tasks as a result of the extreme weather,” says Fire Chief Dave Weiss. “Because of this, we have not been able to get out and uncover all of our fire hydrants in the community. We are asking residents to assist us with this process. If residents know where a fire hydrant is and have the ability to dig it out, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, even if residents could just put some sort of a flag or marker near the hydrant, that would be helpful. There are over 1000 hydrants in the Village. We appreciate everyone’s help with this request.” For more information, contact the Westmont Fire Dept. at 630-981-6400.
