The Village Board recently discussed area cab programs for seniors. “We want to make sure our residents are aware of existing programs that may help seniors who need cab rides to get throughout the community,” says Village Trustee Sue Senicka.
DOWNERS GROVE TOWNSHIP DIAL-A-RIDE
This program is open to Westmont and other area seniors 65 years of age and older who live within Downers Grove Township. Ride service is weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All rides are $5 each way. The vast majority of the Village of Westmont is located within Downers Grove Township. Downers Grove Township boundaries include areas of Westmont south of 39th Street. For more details regarding the Dial-A-Ride program, contact Downers Grove Township at 630-719-6685.
YORK TOWNSHIP SENIOR RIDE PROGRAM
This program is open to Westmont and other area seniors 55 years of age and older who live within York Township. Ride service is weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. One-way essential rides (groceries, medical appointments) are $3 each way. Non-essential rides are $4 each way. York Township boundaries include areas of Westmont north of 39th Street, which include Mayslake Village. For more details regarding the senior ride program, contact York Township at 630-620-2413.
