PRESS RELEASE
Date Issued: August 24, 2012

Most residents of Westmont should be receiving a letter from ComEd confirming that First Energy Solutions will be their new electric supply company. The official changeover is scheduled to occur within two business days of Sept. 19. As has been publicized over the last several months, it is estimated that this change will save most residents between $200 and $500 per year on their electric bills.

“We feel that the Village was very successful in our goals,” says Village Finance Director Spencer Parker. “By partnering with Downers Grove and going through the electric aggregation process, most residents will realize a significant cost savings on an annual basis.”

While First Energy Solutions will be the new electric supply company, ComEd will continue to be the electric distribution company. Therefore, billing will continue to be processed through ComEd and residents will continue to only receive one bill, which will come from ComEd. The only difference will be that First Energy Solutions will be listed as the electric supply company and the cost of electric will be lower than in the past.

If you have any questions regarding your new electric supply agreement, please contact First Energy Solutions at 1-800-977-0500. If you have questions regarding your electric distribution or billing process, please contact ComEd at 1-800-Edison-1.
