Village of Westmont
Issued: June 30, 2014
The Village Board will hear the final presentation from AMEC consultants regarding the development of a proposed Stormwater Utility in Westmont, which would result in a dedicated revenue stream to address community stormwater issues. The special workshop meeting has been scheduled for Monday, July 7, 7 p.m. at the Village Hall. Westmont residents and business owners are encouraged to attend. The board will not vote on the recommendation at this meeting, however it is expected that formal action will be taken at a regular board meeting in July.
“We held a total of four community stakeholder meetings to solicit citizen feedback in the development of this proposal,” says Westmont Communications Director Larry McIntyre. “It’s extremely important that residents understand that this initiative is necessary for the Village to address stormwater concerns in a more meaningful way.”
The presentation will include: an overview of the Stormwater Utility and why it is being proposed, recommendations from the Stormwater Stakeholder Group, proposed costs and fees, proposed rate structures, proposed credits and incentives, and examples of fees.
The meeting will be recorded and played back on local cable as well as posted on the Village of Westmont’s YouTube Channel. For more information regarding the Stormwater Utility proposal, please contact the Village at Communications@westmont.il.gov or 630-981-6245.
