At the Oct. 29, 2015 Village Board meeting, the Westmont Lions Club recognized the three finalists in their Peace Poster Contest. The contest targeted Middle School and Jr. High aged students and asked them to submit a poster entry using the theme “Share Peace”. The three finalists included a dove-themed poster from Westmont Hills Middle School, an elephant-themed poster from Holy Trinity School, and a hands holding the Earth-themed poster from Westmont Jr. High.
The first place winner for the Westmont entries will be selected at the Lions Club meeting on Nov. 3 and then that entry will take part in the regional competition. Selected posters will then move on to the State Competition, and if selected, entries will take part in the International Competition.
“The entries were phenomenal,”says Westmont Lions Club member Jim Addington. “We had a difficult time choosing the winners.” The Westmont Lions Club and the Village of Westmont congratulates and thanks all of the participants.
