PRESS RELEASE
Date Issued: Nov. 2, 2012
The employees of the Village of Westmont will be launching its 14th Annual Winter Coat Drive starting November 5. Coats will be collected through December 3 and all items will be donated to the Downers Grove Fish Pantry, which serves Westmont, Downers Grove and Woodridge.
“Last year, the Village was able to collect and donate 52 coats plus dozens of hats, scarves and mittens,” stated Patti Mielcarski, one of the coordinators of the coat drive. “Our goal this year is to surpass last year’s total so that we can help even more families stay warm this winter.”
Anyone with new or gently used items can drop off their donations during business hours to the Westmont Village Hall at 31 W. Quincy Street, the Westmont Police-Fire Facility at 500 N. Cass Avenue, or the Westmont Fire Department Headquarters Station at 6015 S. Cass Avenue. It is requested that items be freshly washed before donating. In addition, scarves, hats, gloves, mittens, snow pants, and monetary donations will gladly be accepted.
For more information, please contact the Village of Westmont at 630-981-6216 or visit Village Hall at 31 W. Quincy Street in Westmont.
