[ARCHIVED] Name Our Westmont Fall Festivities Contest - Submissions Accepted Through Sept. 8

Village of Westmont
Date Issued: Aug. 2, 2017
Update: Sept. 6, 2017

NOTE: Name submissions being accepted through Friday, Sept. 8

For the past several years, our community Halloween events have continued to get bigger and better. “The Trick or Treat Trail and the Haunted Forest have been successful for many years,” said Chamber Board Member and Park District Superintendent Steve Golembiewski. “Now we have the Pumpkin Smashing Extravaganza, the Caskets on Cass Race, the Scarecrow Decorating Contest, and this year there will be an expanded Halloween Costume Contest.  We want people to know that Westmont has great Halloween events - we want Westmont to be a Halloween destination.”

This year’s Halloween events have been scheduled for Saturday, October 21.  Many of the events, including the Trick or Treat Trail hosted by the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, are held during the day in downtown Westmont on Cass Avenue.  The Haunted Forest, coordinated by the Westmont Park District, starts in the evening and is located at Twin Lakes Woods, 200 W. 59th Street.

“With all of these new events, we’ve decided to ask for the community’s help in creating a new name for this entire day of festivities,” said Westmont Communications Director Larry McIntyre.  “We’re looking for a creative title that will capture all of Westmont’s individual Halloween events under one marketing umbrella.”
