At the Westmont Village Board meeting on February 15, 2018, the Westmont Fire Department presented two retirement plaques and promoted a firefighter to the rank of Lieutenant.
Retirement plaques were presented to Fire Dept. Engineer Tom Barrett and Fire Inspector Jim Bresnahan. Tom started with the Westmont Fire Department 39 years ago. Over the years, he trained many firefighters to be engineers and was vital to putting together the Honor Guard. Jim had been involved with fire service for over 40 years with the last 10 years being with Westmont. He served as Public Education Specialist and was the Fire Department Employee of the Year in 2016.
Also, Firefighter Pat Owens was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Pat has been with the department for 14 years and has expertise with Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue, Dive Rescue, and Rope Rescue.
