Village of Westmont
Date Issued: August 3, 2018
On August 2, 2018, the Village of Westmont Board of Trustees approved plans presented by Holladay Properties for a major new development located on the southwest corner of Quincy Street and Cass Avenue. The project, known as Quincy Station, encompasses the construction of a transit oriented development with a mix of 94 luxury one and two bedroom apartments and 3,100 square feet of available commercial space for an anticipated restaurant in the heart of downtown.
“This was the first official approval by the Village Board as we move forward with this development proposal,” said Economic Development Director Larry Forssberg. “Now the developer will start working on all of the many details that need to be addressed to make this project a reality. Their initial timeline is to break ground in Spring or Summer of 2019.”
The five-story building development will foster an urban living environment for both new and existing residents. According to Drew Mitchell, Vice President of Development and Project Manager, the highly amenitized condo-quality project will feature a leasing concierge, pet spa, temperature controlled parking structure with electric vehicle charging stations, fitness center, and rooftop club room overlooking the heart of downtown Westmont. Mitchell commented, “This is exactly the type of development that Westmont’s Master Plan is calling for, which will add to the vibrancy, walkability, and general excitement that already is present in Westmont.”
The project is being developed by Holladay Properties, a family-owned company with a history of developing dynamic urban residential developments, with Tandem Architecture as the lead architect. An early 2019 construction start is anticipated, with project completion in 2020. Mayor Ron Gunter noted, “Quincy Station is a quality building offering the type of amenities and location highly sought in the real estate market. Westmont is pleased to be partnering with the Holladay Properties to bring this transformational project to Downtown Westmont.”
