The Westmont Fire Department is celebrating it’s 95th anniversary by hosting an Open House on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Johanik Fire Dept. Headquarters, 6015 S. Cass Ave. The department has several fun and educational activities planned for the public. Activities include children’s slide pole, obstacle course, equipment demonstrations, EMA displays, the Fire Dept. Bounce House and more. Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddie the Fire Truck will be there too. The open house will also feature a scrapbook showcasing historical photos and news clipping dating back to the early 20th century. The Fire Dept. would also like you to consider bringing canned goods to be donated to the People’s Resource Center in Westmont.
“We are very excited for our upcoming 95th Anniversary celebration,” said Fire Chief Dave Weiss. “We look forward to sharing the colorful history of the Westmont Fire Department with the entire community.”
