The Westmont Police Department is hosting an Open House and National Night Out Event on Tuesday, August 6, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Westmont Police Station located at 500 N. Cass Avenue. There will be facility and vehicle tours, kids events, and food prepared by the Westmont Lions Club. McGruff and Radar the remote-controlled squad car will be on hand.
The Police Department will have several information tables providing materials regarding our Citizen Police Academy, Special Olympics, Animals and general safety information. In addition to the Police Department informational tables there will also be informational tables with representatives from Westmont Park District, Westmont Library, People's Resource Center, YWCA, NAMI DuPage, Westmont Pharmacy and 7-11.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Most cities and towns celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
