The Westmont Lions Foundation is hosting an Oktoberfest fundraiser and 5K Running for the Cause event Friday and Saturday, October 4 to 5, 2019. The event will be held in front of Westmont Village Hall located at 31 W. Quincy St. In addition to the 5K CARA certified and USATF sanctioned race the fundraiser will include craft beer, Oktoberfest style food, live music, a car show, artist and craft show and a health fair.
“The Westmont Lions Club is excited to bring back the Oktoberfest event,” said Westmont Lion Dan Buczkowski. “All funds raised go to our diabetes programs and services.”
As part of the health fair, the Lions Club International busses for hearing and vision screening will be onsite offering free screening. Diabetes vendors will be onsite to offer free testing strips, pamphlets, and information. The Vitalant Blood donation vehicle will be onsite for those interested in making a blood donation.
